About the Author
Lisa Owens is the choir director at Rawlinson Middle School in Northside ISD, San Antonio, TX. She works with a close network of creative and inspiring choir directors in NISD. She earned her Bachelor's in Music Education from Texas State University and her Master's in Choral Conducting from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She has had many wonderful mentors throughout her life and would especially like to thank Carole Krueger, Jean Wood, Patricia Moreno, Judy Stephenson, Irma Taute, John Silantien, Kathryn Proctor-Duax, Mary Jane Johnson, and Linda Poetschke. These great teachers are a daily inspiration for her work as a choir director. She would also like to recognize her mother, Karen Owens, who was the first musician she came to admire.
